Immaculately clean (the cleanest place we’ve probably ever stayed! Not a speck of dust) and beautifully decorated & comfortable Georgian property. Pablo and John couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful, we were running late for a wedding and didn’t know the area/taxi companies so Pablo booked us a taxi that showed up straight away without us even needing to ask and even lent us some cash in case they didn’t take card! Quiet and relaxing vibe even with it being on a main road so we were able to get a good nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely and we are so so glad we chose to stay at this lovely place with such wonderful hosts over the naff big chain premier inn where most other wedding guests stayed!

Everything, especially our Hosts Pablo and John who were extremely good at creating a calm atmosphere in a relaxing luxury environment. The large room was perfect and spotlessly clean with high-end quality bedding and furniture. The house is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The freshly cooked breakfast was pretty much unbeatable on all accounts, a freshly made fruit salad starter laid out on a platter was presented as you would expect in a high end restaurant, followed by a fabulous English Breakfast. Yes, we would ask to stay at the Lions before looking elsewhere when next in the area.

What a fantastic welcoming and stay. Both Pablo and John made us feel so at ease and relaxed in their beautiful home. On arrival we were invited to join them for a glass of wine with a couple of their friends and family in an exquisite garden full of flower. We travel on a regular basis often using hotels and B&Bs throughout the year, but this must be one of the most delightful places we have ever stayed in. The finishing touches, attention to detail and divine breakfast, served to us in their garden on our request, made our stay so special and one to remember.

It was lovely to stay in a B&B where the owners genuinely enjoy running their business. The garden is wonderful and available for guests to use, you can also order drinks to enjoy in the garden, lounge area or bedroom. The breakfast included home made jams using fruit from the garden. A short walk into the centre of town and to the fantastic Civil War Museum; the Aircraft Museum is a short drive away, so plenty to do. Owners let us park our motorbike in the garden for security, 1st class service, nothing was too much trouble.

The Lions is easy to find and there was no problem with parking. The hosts are very friendly and attentive and we were made very welcome. This lovely 200 year old house has been superbly and sympathetically renovated and the garden is beautiful. Our rooms were very well equipped and comfortable - just what we needed after a gruelling 4 and 1/2 hour drive. There were plenty of breakfast options. Our breakfasts were generous, beautifully and well prepared, and served with a personal touch that made us feel special.
